Inspired by a passion for the specialty, the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology (AAVD) and the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) created the North American Veterinary Dermatology Forum (NAVDF) in 2011 to provide state-of-the-art continuing education paired with outstanding social events and networking opportunities. An interactive exhibit hall with innovative products and services to elevate the practice of veterinary dermatology is also a feature of the Forum.
AAVD is dedicated to promoting the field of veterinary dermatology, in education, research, and professional veterinary practice. Our members serve in government and industry, private veterinary practice, academia, and as consultants for a wide range of clients. Many of our members are board-certified veterinary dermatologists and others are veterinary practitioners with a strong interest in dermatology.
The American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) is the official specialty organization accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association in 1982 and charged with maintenance of high standards of postgraduate training in veterinary dermatology. The purpose of the ACVD is to advance and promote excellence in veterinary dermatology, oversee postgraduate training in veterinary dermatology, sponsor research, and organize scientific and educational programs for both veterinary dermatologists and general practitioners.
